A love letter.
DIRECTOR’S NOTE
On its eighth year, the San Jose Academy Christmas Campus ID has reached milestones, one of which is writing an original musical composition for the first time. This documentary music video plays around the various meanings of Christmas to every human. Ang Himig ng Pasko, in many ways, is an open book of stories of different people. But all in all, it is a love letter— to and by the Josenian community.

Bio
Originating from the City of Navotas, Gab Garces is a filmmaker with years of experience in directing, cinematography, editing, writing, and photography. As a firm believer that story is king, Gab believes that the narrative should always be put first on top of everything else. With his primary experience in the technical department, he loves to play around stories by finding points of improvement in everything he handles. Being in the industry for years, his constant progression in skills is a gift that can benefit any project with its involvement.
My approach
At the age of 10, I witnessed a same-day-edit video of a cousin's wedding. I saw the videographers make movements with their equipment, which I then tried to recreate with our point-and-shoot camera. I started connecting these clips together, and next thing I know, I've started making stories.
My approach to crafting films is rooted in my passion in cameras and the power it holds. With a single picture, we can tell a complete story for the whole world to see. Since then, I've joined competitions, workshops, and masterclasses to further expand my knowledge. The same love I had for filmmaking as a kid— I carry with me today, and I look forward to telling stories with you.
